THREE FTII FILMS SELECTED FOR PIFF 2012
Three FTII films have been selected for the Whistling Woods International Student Film Competition (a section of the Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) scheduled from 12th to 19th January 2012. These are: Airawat (dir. Renu Savant), Open Cafe v 2.5 (dir. Naveen Padmanabha) and Shankarnama (dir. Tanushree Das and Saurabh Shankar).
The nominations for Sound and Cinematography for Open Cafe v2.5 (dir. Naveen Padmanabha) and Shankarnama (dir. Tanushree Das and Saurabh Shankar). Airawat has been selected for the Short Fiction Category. Open Cafe v2.5 and Shankarnama will compete in the Short Fiction category.
The films will be screened on Saturday, 14th of January along with other 15 student films selected for the Competition.
It can be mentioned that FTII student films such as Narmeen (Dipti Gogna), The Watch Clinic (Vikrant Pawar), Motorbike (Radhika Murthy) and others have won honours like Best Film and also other contributions in direction, screenplay, cinematography and sound etc. during earlier PIFFs.
