FTII to host an International Students' Film Festival

International Film Festival From 25 - 28 September, 2010.

As a part of Golden Jubilee Year Celebrations, the Film and Television Institute of India will host an International Students' Film Festival at FTII. To be held during September 24-28, 2010, this will be first ever such event being organized by FTII.

The Festival will screen about 50 films from the film institutions in India and abroad. The Festival will be inaugurated on 24th September while the screenings of the student films will be held at the auditoria of the Institute as well the National Film Archive of India from 25th to 28th September, 2010. As many as 25 film institutes have already confirmed their participation. Among them are Beijing Film Academy, China; Royal College of Art, London; HF University of Film and Television, Munich; Chapman School of Film and Video, Ngee-Ann, Polytechnic, Singapore; Griffith University, Australia; Tisch School of Art, New York University; NUCT, Rome, Italy; ECAM, Spain; EICTV, Cuba; HFF Konard Wolff, Germany; VCA & Film Music, The University of Melbourne; Le Femis, Paris, France; VGIK, Moscow, Russia; FAMU, California, USA; SRFTII, Kolkata; Whistling Woods, Mumbai; Prasad Film Academy, Chennai.

Each film school will be represented by one student with her or his film. Apart from screening of the film, there will be open forum where the filmmakers will interact with audience.

The awards for three categories each - Fiction, Non-Fiction and Animation will be given on the conclusion of the Festival. Mr. Reinhard Hanff (Germany), Ms Bina Paul, Ranjan Palit and Gitanjali Rao will function as the members of the jury for the Festival.

This Festival is expected to deepen the relationship between the Film Schools across the world and FTII looks forward to make it a unique and pleasurable event.
