TREMENDOUS PARTICIPATION AND RECOGNITION OF FTII DIPLOMA FILMS IN VARIOUS FILM FESTIVALS
The FTII regularly enters its student films at various film festivals held in India and abroad. Many of these films have won national and international accolades and recognition. What is more significant is that this year our film have been invited in 36 International Film Festivals (list attached). The following figures mention FTII's massive participation in international film festivals held in India and abroad.

'Dhaara' and 'Guftagoo'

Recognising the need and demand from the students, the prospective filmmakers need to be aware not only about cinema, but various forms of art, literature, aesthetics, issues and problems of society etc., the Institute has launched to new series:
1) Dhaara, a series of cultural programs, and
2) Guftagoo, a series of discussions and semimars.
A number of celebrities such as Pandit Ronu Mujumdar, Shafqat Ali Khan, Rahim Fahimuddin Khan Dagar, Asad Ali Khan, Biswajit Ray Choudhary, Prahlad Singh Tipania have presented their art whereas noted scholars like Dr. M. K. Dhavalikar, Vishnu Khare have presented various sessions on the respective topics.

Telecast of FTII Films on Loksabha Television

The Loksabha Television has Initiated to telecast FTII Student Films on its Channel. During the year 2008, the Loksabha TV has telecast 15 Diploma Films under its programme 'First Cut'. A few more student films have been sent to Loksabha TV and are awaiting telecast.

The Institute is a member of the International Liasion Centre of Cinema and TV Schools (CILECT) to which all leading Film and TV Schools the world over are affiliated. Shri Pankaj Rag, Director attended the annual CILECT meeting held at Beijing Film Academy in 3rd to 8th November 2008.
